Santa Ana - Brujos 83-55

Santa Ana held Brujos to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.5 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Brujos 50-37 including a 43-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Santa Ana looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Santa Ana made 11 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Abdulbasit Ajia (200-1999) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 19 rebounds and 8 assists. American Timothy Simmons (195-1992, college: DBU) chipped in 23 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican Eusebio Suero who recorded 11 points and 9 rebounds and guard Pedro Martinez (174-1984) added 5 points and 12 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Cojute made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game, while Salvadorenos only scored seven points from the stripe. It was a good game for American center Troidell Carter (206-1991, college: Slippery Rock) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. Dominican forward Frankyn Batista (198-1999, college: Pace) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Batista is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Derek Murphy (196-1997, college: Florida Tech) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Emanuel Rodriguez added 11 points, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Salvadorenos. Salvadorenos' coach Sergio Rouco gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win.

Metapan forced 26 Santa Tecla turnovers. Strangely Santa Tecla outrebounded Metapan 47-35 including 33 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Santa Tecla's players. It was a good game for Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Alberto Liriano (-1998) contributed with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Metapan players scored in double figures. American swingman Andravious Smith (198-1995, college: Tougaloo) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds and Nicaraguan guard Deikel Sanchez (-1996) added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Santa Tecla. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
